Research Documents

This page contains document links for farmers and gardeners interested in conducting on-site research.

  • Your Farm Research RegistryThis document is for farmers and gardeners to use to register to do research with the Real Food Campaign's nutrient density research project, summer 2010.  It needs to be mailed or emailed back to the RFC by June 1st for growers to be able to participate in this year's rigorous level of research.

  • RFC's Farm Research InstructionsThis document is to instruct farmers and gardeners in how to undertake the 'rigorous' level of research with the Real Food Campaign's nutrient density research project. Its purpose is to explain the methods and protocols necessary to set up the research trial, carry it out, and collect data on nutrient dense growing practices for the 2010 growing season.

  • RFC's Farm Research NotesGrower's research notes and data to be filled in during the growing season and returned to the Real Food Campaign.

  • RFC's Farm Research BackgroundThis Research Background is a broad description of the theory behind the RFC's on-farm research program.  It goes into the details of why the RFC has chosen to do things one way or another, and explains what scientific agricultural research is all about.  We wanted to keep the other working documents as short as possible, and so put clarifying explanations in this Research Background document.

  • RFC Amendment Application RatesThis spreadsheet calculates amendment quantities for different size farm or garden test areas, as well as equivalent measurements of different volumes.
